What is a Mixer?

A kitchen mixer is a very handy appliance that is used to mix different ingredients or beating foods. It provides a more efficient way of mixing ingredients than by stirring with a spoon. It is commonly used for making different kinds of doughs, mixing cake batters, or beating eggs or cream.

It works through a gear-driven mechanism in which a motor rotates a set of beaters. The beaters are immersed in a bowl containing the ingredients to be mixed. The beaters can be rotated at different speeds depending on the ingredients to be mixed.

The mixers come in different sizes and have accessories such as wire whip, dough hook, and other attachments to make the mixing process easier.

Hand/Stand Mixers

If you are looking for a compact-sized mixer that can serve the purpose of stand mixers, then these hybrid mixers are your answer. They are lightweight and pack a lot of power. You can convert them to hand mixers by simply pushing a button.

These mixers retain the base and mixing bowl from the stand mixtures, however, they are not as heavy. They feature a retractable cord for easy storage and come with multiple attachments for versatile usage.

Manual Mixers

These are not widely used as you have to manually rotate a crank to mix the ingredients. They can only be used for mixing small portions of ingredients. They are extremely light-weight and the least expensive.

They can come in very handy if you experience frequent power cuts. Also, they are the ideal option for outdoor use.

What is a Blender?

A blender is an electrical kitchen appliance that is used to mix, puree, and emulsify food and other ingredients. It is commonly used to make smoothies, make vegetable purees, blend soups, make sauces, dips, and desserts.

The blender features a motor and a control panel. The motor is connected to rotating blades using a shaft. A pitcher is attached to the bottom that collects puree and fluids.
